Acid Etched Glass Description
Acid Etched Glass is produced by masking the glass panel with an acid-resistant substance such as wax, through which the design is scratched, and then immersed in hydrofluoric acid or a mixture of dilute hydrofluoric acid and potassium fluoride is applied to etch the exposed areas of glass for finally distinctive, uniformly smooth and stain-like appearance which is impervious to fingerprints, marks, dirt or oil, making it the perfect choice for high traffic location and is available in a variety of patterns, textures, and translucency, providing esthetic and privacy with a high level of light transmittance.
Acid Etched Glass can be available for single side and double side according to customer different request without fingerprint.When the acid etched process was applied to a single color glass the pattern could be etched much more deeper than what was usually done with a cased glass,this process was often called sculptured or carved.
